The junior students at MANUKURA enjoyed a Masterchef style challenge last week – each group of students was given 9 whole baked kumara to turn into tasty stuffed kumara, and they also had to prepare 9 servings of salad (no lettuce allowed) and dessert.
First they planned their meal, they then went shopping for their ingredients, finally preparing and presenting their finished plates to the judges. Plenty of fresh herbs, limes, colourful strawberries and asparagus, and rosettes made from tomatoes filled the dining room. Teachers judged the final outcome on flavour, texture, presentation, nutrition and originality. A great time was had by all, especially the judges 😀 A great way to end the year!
